yeah, sorry, a hung server handling one of my accounts caused outlook
express not to send my response till it was stale.

However (and not wanting to start a meta argument) Marty's initial comment
indicated he was not aware of reasons not to but thought it should always be
done, so it is fair to express the counter view.

I think we are on the "pick-one" stage, but unless Marty is aware that both
choices are "acceptable" how can he make a "decision"?  He thought it was
merely an oversight of an essential action on his part.

Now I know Marty understands both points of view I am happy to let him
choose, I don't care if he holds a vote or not.

The arguments for which you brusquely say "just drop it" haven't actually
occurred, they were just your predictions.
