we provide the capability for others to run workflows
through their own enactment servers.
Would this be something for a community service? I imagine a fair
number of users set up a Taverna remote enactor, flag that a certain
load of workflow 'unit' tests are allowed, and a scheduler distributes
these unit tests over these enactors.
Sound griddy, doesn't it? Could this be a grid use case?
Cheers,
Marco.

It sounds trivial. However, you would need a set of test input values
and expected output values, together with comparison algorithms.
Right... the EMBRACE registry had scripts to test a service... sort of
a unit test. The input and expected output data are then part of the
script...
Yes, we are implementing this exact same functionality in the
BioCatalogue, based on the experiences from the EMBRACE registry (the
EMBRACE registry is a pre-pilot to the BioCatalogue). We'll then assess
whether this is feasible in myExperiment or not, for workflows. One of
the major issues right now is that we do not run workflows in
myExperiment - we provide the capability for others to run workflows
through their own enactment servers.
I think something like that is planned for BioCatalogue so maybe the
work can be used on myExperiment as well.
I hope to see myExperiment support uploading test data, or scripts to
perform these unit tests...
