IMHO, TB having this setting is a bug by itself. I often get e-mails
that have deeply nested quotes, and I also often get e-mails that have

obviously not a quote, but try getting The Bat to recognize this,
while keeping it recognising the following line as a deeply nested
quote:

If nothing else, The Bat should have a setting to only recognize a
line as a quote if it starts with the following regexp: ^[ >]+

The simple explanation always follows the complex solution.
