So now you got the whole idea:-) *I* don't like it, and the reasoning is the
following: I've got this account (it's UUCP one), which I *do* prefer to use for
high-traffic lists, etc., etc., since UUCP supports rusumed downloads, and the
telephone lines here are less then perfect (I could say even more:-)). But at
work I can't use this account, since we've got no modems there which I could
use to dial my home ISP. So, when I'm at home, I use (mainly) this account,
but when I'm at work, two others (one at the department server, one at the
Physics Faculty server). The "input stream" doesn't differ very much between
these accounts, only here I get the mailing lists traffic, too. On top of this, I'm
at university only few days a week, so the work-related mail comes both here
and to the "work" addresses. All this means, that I frequently want to deal with
the traffic coming to three above-mentioned accounts as with one single input
stream. In Pegasus, "identities" feature is exactly for this; but in TB I'm forced
to setup a separate "account" for each e-mail address I've got, which I
*personally* don't like. You might ask, why. Well... Suppose a message
comes to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and I download it while being at home. I
would like to reply to it through mph.phys.spbu.ru of course, but this means I
shouldn't filter it from MPH account to the UUCP (this) one. If I do so, I'll need
to switch the account used when sending the reply, which is the operation I'm
in a habit of forgetting to accomplish all the time:-) Another option would be to
leave this incoming message in the MPH account, but then I would need to
create the *same* system of filters and templates in 3 accounts instead of
creating it just once. This isn't pretty appropriate idea, too. Therefore the only
idea that *really* works would be making my three accounts share the same
folders. This *can* be done in TB... well, it doesn't work excellently, but it
works at least... But then, one *cannot* share the four predefined folders
(Inbox, Outbox, Sent and Trash) between accounts, which means I would
need to set up an incoming filter for MPH account that would filter the
messages that are left in the Inbox after all other filters do their job to the Inbox
of the UUCP account. With the consequences described above. Finally, the
modus vivendi described above would result in (idiotic, IMHO) situation when
the copies to self of the messages to the same recipient will be found in 3
different Sent folders (unless I filter them back to the Sent folder of the UUCP
account, but then I'll loose the option to resend them, since they'll be resent
through the *wrong* SMTP server then).
So *I* would suggest that the "identities" feature be supported by TB, too. It
has proved to be extremely useful for *me* in Pegasus, and I don't see a
*working* workaround in TB currently.

I'd prefer some way to set up "subaccounts" that would differ *only* in the
POP3/SMTP settings (and probably a few another, like Reply-To: address
etc.) and that would share the *same* folder hierarchy. Consider this as a
possible wishlist item. We can discuss it here, if you want. *If* there exists
some way to set it up without this, I'll take it back:-)
