There're a few other things you may try before re-creating the index
file (.tbi) per Januk's instruction:

1. Go to the folder, and check deleted messages (from the menu
"Folder | Browse deleted messages"). If they're there, they were
accidentally deleted. You may move all or some of them back by using
drag-n-drop.

2. Do a global search for a message that you're sure to be in that
folder, and see if it turns up elsewhere. They might have been moved
accidentally.

The re-indexing trick as Januk suggested is quick and effective, but
please be reminded it has a couple of side effects:

1. All messages you intentionally deleted or moved to other folders
*after* you last compress the folder would re-emerge. It's because
TB physically removes deleted messages only when compressing a
folder (that's why you may undelete even if they're gone from the
trash folder). Before that, TB marks a message as deleted in the
index file, and such marking would be lost when the index is
re-created.

2. All other message annotations kept in the index file would be
gone, too. That include most of the attributes you can see in the
message list (read/unread, replied, parked, etc.) and memos (yes,
memos are kept in the index).
