Actually, much of the new v2 feature set already exists and is being
testing in the 1.xx series. The V2 mailbase format was introduced for
1.42. S/MIME was added at around 1.45. Other than these things we know
that the editor is due for a major re-work and the stated intention is
to offer support for plug-ins and / or scripting of some kind.

Most of it is, for sure.

There are many people at RITlabs. I don't know how many since I only
communicate with four of them in total. Only two of the RITlabs
personal are involved in programming TB to my knowledge; Stefan
Tanurkov and Maxim Masiutin.
