Using either GnuPG or PGP will not affect TB!'s capabilities.

If you're willing to use a command line to edit keys then GnuPG/GPG
Shell is just as nice a solution as PGP 6.5.8, though GnuPG offers
more PGP features that places it on par with PGP 7.x.x. If you wish to
run PGP 6.5.8, I'd suggest running a ckt build found here:

http://www.ipgpp.com/

It supports a lot more features than the original PGP 6.5.8.

If you wish to use a plugin, then you'll likely find the PGP plugin
for TB! more easy to use than the one for GnuPG.
