However, I do not see why it should be responsibilty of an email client to provide such a "complete" addressbook, which will contain a lot of data not needed by it. I would think it is time for a seperate addressbook program into which email clients, PIMs, and other application can hook into. If I then change the email address, for example from within the email application, the one database is updated.
