Write error? Check the attributes of the file. Also run a scandisk,
and, for good measure, a virus scan. Sounds like a disk error to me,
though.

Maybe the index file is corrupted (but I am guessing here).

Can you copy the messages to the new folder from within TB?

As you can still see the messages, back up the message.tbb file first
before you do anything else.
