You will probably receive better solutions from others. But my simple
approach is to filter all Welcome mail into folders, leaving the
unknown-unwelcome mail in the general InBox.

Filter for specific known items into appropriate folders, followed by
the last filter, being The Bat's Known filter to put any non-specific
items into a Welcome folder.

This leaves everything else to sit in the InBox. Here you can giv it a
quick glance before deleting the lot.

I am receiving allot of spam. When the messages arrive which I do not
want I have set up filters to deal with them. All that happens is that
the senders just change their names of some other element of the
address and then the messages continue to get past my filters. Can the
