I've often wondered, aside from the STC conference (which marginally enthuses me), if the STC's time has come and gone. There's a lot of things wrong with the organization that can't be laid at the feet of any person in particular, but are rather institutional problems. Those take many people a long time to fix, if they can ever be fixed. Look at IBM, for instance. How many years did it take them to right themselves?
