Noise dampening ear phones typically do squat for high pitched fan whine 
of 1U servers. They work better for low frequency noise (like jet engine 
cabin vibrations, trains, etc.).  The main benefit is just in the amount 
of noise you block with them, not in the electronics, for server rooms.
