Perhaps slightly off-topic, but running Oracle over NFS seems to be the current preferred solution. We've been moving from some very expensive SANs into some much less expensive but still "Whoa Nelly" priced NFS for all our Oracle. Allegedly Oracle themselves run their Oracle over NFS these days, certainly in their technology center. With high-performance a well-understood NFS, along with iSCSI, I just don't feel compelled to run "real" SAN anymore. We've used NetApp 6000 series and BlueArc both with good results, in both cases having all the DB storage for Oracle RAC served to the RAC nodes over NFS. I think some of the other groups here are looking at using iSCSI and/or NFS for VMWare as well. --tep _______________________________________________ Tech mailing list [email protected] http://lopsa.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/tech This list provided by the League of Professional System Administrators http://lopsa.org/
