Agreed.  For a long while Oracle was using NetApp for this purpose.  I 
don't know if they still are.  In our case, we will have a SAN as well as 
NAS services, so we can choose one or both.  The most difficult battle is 
getting past the DBA team, who still insist on wanting to know which 
specific spindles in the SAN arrays are their dedicated RAID-1 volumes. 
Sigh.
