We've got an ns80, ns40 and ns702, with a standalone nsg8 on order. We only use dedupe from your feature list. We're interested in replication, but at this point rsync is meeting our limited needs. Dedupe is a late addition to their feature set. It's file-based, not block based, so not all that useful. It also does compression of files that meet criteria. Generally they consider files 2-4 weeks old candidates for dedupe/compression. On windows shares we're seeing about a 25% space savings across the board. On our unix production data we're seeing much less (3-10%). > Has anyone done simultaneous NFS and CIFS to the same share on a Celerra? > It can be tricky on the NetApp. I think it's just as tricky. We looked at it briefly and decided to stick with samba for windows access to nfs shares since we needed some wacky permissions things. _______________________________________________ Tech mailing list [email protected] http://lopsa.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/tech This list provided by the League of Professional System Administrators http://lopsa.org/
