Thank you all, I will post one of my non working examples tomorrow. I dont think the syntax is too hard, I am a C++ programmer and familiar with formal descriptive programming languages...
I have used musixtex on one small project successfully (I set 'Danny Boy'), and musixtex is quite a mouthful...slurs, ties, chords, ...
