The reason why we authors keep them undocumented is not always because we are too lazy to write the documentation, but because it leaves open the possibility of changing the implementation of some documented feature without introducing backward incompatibilities. But if the feature is useful enough, it will acquire a life of its own.
Now that Don himself has pointed out a new use for \bartext, I humbly submit that its status is now 'documented', even though the documentation is only a submission to the list. There are quite a few other very nice things in pmx.tex. Don, how would you feel about it if people who use them publish their usage, thus raising their status to 'de facto documented'?
