The deflate issue does not manifest itself as "negative vibes" so it is another issue causing that response for you.
There other reasons for that response - generally due to incorrect settings for the account with these add-ons. Please make sure that in Thunderbird your security settings for the Hotmail and Yahoo accounts are set to "none". You cannot use secure settings with these add-ons and indeed they have no meaning or value.
