Due to the CSS spec, class names have to be escaped. So I think, there is no solution, other than create weird looking classes. The problem with those classes are, that they are extremely inconvenient for newbie users. IMO it's impossible for humans to create valid CSS stylesheets by hand. Except for simple tag names. ..... Having a look to this group, it seems there aren't many problems with this functionality. .. Either because - the feature it's rarely used - tag names are simple by default - Users just use simpler tag names, if complicated ones don't work As I wrote several times, we need more testing with the new [attr] selector. I'm not sure yet, how it handles quotes. ..
