To clarify, I’m not actually building TWX at the moment, nor do I plan to any
time soon.

At this stage, it’s just a thread through my personal notes about core design
choices in TiddlyWiki 5 that are too late to change, but that I would now
approach differently.

The classic example is the way that the core JS gives special treatment to
certain tiddler fields like “tags" and "list" that cannot easily be duplicated
by users for their own custom fields. That issue has come up when people have
been exploring creating their own custom tags-like fields.

These fundamental limitations are actually pretty rare and obscure, but it’s
useful to be able to talk about them. Much of the previous discussion prompted
by TWX has actually focussed on ideas that can be implemented without
incompatible core changes (I’m thinking particularly of Mat’s fascinating
suggestion for different semantics for the story river; as far as I can see
there’s nothing stopping that idea being implemented on the present core).

Best wishes

Jeremy
