> the cost of a big company supporting one more database is not so important, > it's much more a political decision.
Actually, the hidden costs of having too many technologies in the stack have been realized by many companies and the local political decisions regarding the purchase of technologies is now being managed on an enterprise scale in most companies just to prevent technology creep. This trend has been occurring over the past ten years and it is now nearly universal. So from experience I can tell you, introducing a second , different database into these environments will be quite difficult. As far as marketing that is another topic certainly worth discussing and please open another thread if you wish to further explore that topic. I will only say that there is nothing wrong with the name TinyERP. It is a rather nice understatement actually.
