I don't see the need to move the discussion to another thread. We are speaking about odoo. I understand perfectly the need of certifying a module to be included on Odoo. Once included there, anyone could use it, so it must be as clean as it is possible.
But I think it can be possible to share the maintenance of additional modules as it is on standar openerp, not in odoo. That is, someone includes a module on extra-addons, another people use it and install it on their customers. There is more than 20 modules really usefull and fully functional on extra-addons we are using by now. Even if there is some problem with them, there are people who can repair without reporting the bug to tiny. Then, the module is uploaded to launchpad repaired, so software quality does not depend only on tiny quality team but community and partners are contributing to mantain their own modules. Why not in Odoo? As I told before, I think that opening the possibility to partners or distributors of including extra-addons o additional modules for their own customers gives much more flexibility to offer the service to a final customer. I understand it is a difficult bussines model to build and maybe there can be some technical issues but I think it should be possible. ------------------------ Manuales, Videotutoriales de OpenERP en http://www.openerpsite.com http://www.aulaerp.com -------------------- m2f -------------------- -- http://www.openobject.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=41087#41087 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ Tinyerp-users mailing list http://tiny.be/mailman2/listinfo/tinyerp-users
