John, I've just connected a USB drive with 7 24/96 -8 files to my Touch. Shortly after the scan completed, playback of all 7 tracks was started. Some minutes into the first track I got a stutter. At that time, top via ssh showed me that usr/bin/jive was using 45% cpu, Jive_alsa was using 12% and squeezecenter/gdres was using 27%. I had one or two more stutters then it seemed to settle down. From what I could tell, the stuttering SEEMED to correspond to a burst of activity from squeezecenter/gdres... Also I noticed jive_alsa occasionally leaping up over 25%, whereas jive was varying between 38-45% -- Phil Leigh You want to see the signal path BEFORE it gets onto a CD/vinyl...it ain't what you'd call minimal...
