Wow, my experience is the exact opposite. I buy a lot of stuff from Amazon, both direct and from their sellers. I almost always get a shipping notice the same day, sometimes in just a couple of hours. I do have Amazon Prime which gives me free 2 day shipping, but I don't know whether that makes the delay before shipping any shorter.
