A vortexbox server or some DIY linux box Dual core atom small thing,
thats enough .

I had a small mini-itx server with 3TB of drives , before that i used
my desktop ,the mini server is not to big don't use that much power it
has no screen or keyboard etc, but i is not in my listening room it's
not quiet enough must be elsewhere .

A decommissioned old laptop with an USB drive could also be a server.

Don't forget that the web-UI is visble on the whole network, not only
the server.

There is actually endless possibilities really .

Btw don't spring for the cheapest possibly NAS they have the cpu from a
musical doorbell to quote another forum member :) and will have the same
pitfall as the internal tiny server but accompanied with a very slow
web-Ui to fret over .

A decent NAS would do however .

But the server approach maybe makes more sense when you have a network
and have multiple players, then to plunk in a server in the middle of
it makes sense .

I do see the dilemma if one only has wifi laptops around the house
there not ideal servers but they would perform that function to. Then
you naturally migrate to a NAS like solution , but chickens out and get
the absolutely slowest possible thing and are yet again dissapionted.
