Having studied the code in this vol100 mod, it is obvious that all that
is happening is that the calculated value (65536 when vol=max) is being
hardcoded to 65536. The computer is doing EXACTLY the same amount of
work in both cases and the volume is exactly the same - to eliminate
ANY doubt about this, consider HDCD or DTS via s/pdif...

all discussion of crossfade, RG etc makes no difference - the mod
doesn't alter any of that, it just replaces a variable with a fixed
integer value at a certain point in the code. The work to calc the
variable is still undertaken...


There is only one conceivable way this mod could produce an audible
difference - and that is if volume was not = 100 to begin with.
