I use my Touch as an "in house" portable music device. I stream music to it from my desktop PC via the Squeezebox server application. I may have the Touch setting right beside that desktop PC using some Grado headphones, or on the front/back porch. When I want to listen to my music in my "2 channel" sound room, I keep a pair of 15 foot interconnect cables connected to a pre-amp input.
