When you say all your "now playing" items are "lit", do you mean that the boxes next to all the options are selected (filled in). I assume so. This is normal. Mine are all selected as well. Then when I'm playing something and it is on the now playing screen, I tap the screen and it cycles through all the now playing screen options. So I tap, see just artwork, tap again, see artwork and song info, tap again and see VU meter, etc.
