Don't worry about that line - I've commented it out in later kernels as
it appears most dacs don't allow this to be displayed.

The plugin is only updating this file.  Did you "sync" before "reboot"
when you updated this?  (otherwise it was possibly not valid json?)

Try setting the alsaPlaybackDevice="hw:CARD=DAC" and alsaSampleSize=24
for your dac.

The plugin should do this automatically - but lets find our what your
dac needs first.
