What the smart volume does is effectively moving the volume up and down . But as their is no more bits and not more than 100% volume ( there is no 11 like in spinal tap ).
So it must equalise around a lower base level , so many tunes are played lower a very few louder but the net result should that they are equal . The rg tags has a track gain and an album gain , in the context of an album some tracks should be softer and are played in the context of the album .
