Thanks, Ronnie.  

I am fairly sure that the problem is the low initial volume setting of
the Dragonfly.  When I plug it into my Odroid (Squeezelite-based) I have
to fire up alsamixer and jack the volume up there before it works
properly.  What I'm fairly sure I need is a way to do this via putty in
the Touch.  

Can anyone suggest a method?
