Not that I oppose Jinja2 (more speed is always welcome and for some applications you really notice how slow Genshi is), however for my trac captcha implementation [1], Genshi's capabilities are really wonderful. Only because of that it is so easy to add a captcha virtually everywhere.
So personally I'd like to see an API [1], just so that my captcha plugin can still exist :-)
