I have a T2-135 board that is probably several years old now installed in a
DR-135 Mk II that was new at just about the same time. I know there's been
past discussion about the decode performance of these units and I'd just like
to get updated on the status of any fixes. I think there was talk of some
hardware changes to better shape the audio, but I don't know where that stands
now.

I do have the latest firmware build installed (55076) and today I was running
my DR-135 system next to my other home system using a Yaesu FT-1500M and AGWPE
and the home system is decoding many more transmissions than the Alinco. I'm
using two identical antennas at the same height with just about the same
transmission line lengths and quality. The Alinco gets most of the strong
signals, but the weaker ones are not handled well. The radio hears them (the
"meter" moves) but the board does not decode them.

So, is there a practical fix for those of us who are a little hesitant about
surface mount techniques?
