I had an older T2-135 too. Some time ago, I did a "side by side"
comparison with a KPC3+ some time ago. My recollection is that the
KPC3+ did a bit better. It went to an FT-1500 that was connected to
a j-pole and the Alinco radio was connected to a 4 element Yagi. (It
was really a 5 element Yagi, but I said "4 element" last time - hi!)
More gain, but probably pointing about 90° to where most of the
traffic was coming from. My comment was that "the T2-135 wasn't
terrible, but the KPC3+ did decode more [packets]".

I recently got another T2-135. I think it indicated "ver 1.2" on the
circuit board. I've got it running side-by-side with the same KPC3+.
I disabled digipeating in the Kantronics TNC. The T2-135 was running
in KISS mode connected to UI-View. With the UI-View terminal window
on the screen, and the KPC3+ connected to a terminal program and sized
so I could watch both, I would have to say that performance was almost
identical. Occasionally one or the other would decode a packet that the
other one missed, but about 95% of the time, both did the job. Last time
around, I did an antenna swap, but I'm not going to bother this time. I
don't think I was disappointed with performance of the older T2-135,
but the new one definitely does better.

I have compared a T2-301 with a KPC3+ in the past. It did about as
well as the KPC3+.
