That looks to be the same car adapter I have.  It looks like if you have a 
powered mount, it just passes the power thru the back 4 pins.  If I blug the 
adapter into the side, it still powers up the nuvi with full 
functionality..although I dont know about the FMI cap?  Perhaps I just need to 
try it.  unless they have double assigned the pinouts, it may be that the back 
power conn just parallels the side port power in pins.
