In today's reading in Psalms we are taught about the vanity of worldly riches.
It says they that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude
of riches, none of them can by any means redeem his brother nor give to God a
ransom of him. For the redemption of their souls is precious and ceaseth
forever. psalm 49:6-8
The bible clearly states that wat is more important is the redemption of the
soul for riches will just remain here on earth and will be taken up by others.
But is it that simple to avoid material things?
Can one just live on the word alone?

I am reminded of a common scripture in Math that says seek ye first the Kingdom
of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto u.
So the idea is to get our priorities right. Focus more on redemption. Focus on
the kingdom more. Seek first the kingdom and the lord will indeed supply all
your needs.
As humans we tend to get facinated by worldy riches, let us focus more on the
giver and not the gift, and our lives will be worth far much more becoz they
have value now and in the life to come.
