Update:I asked the person with first hand knowledge about it. Apparently I connected the dots incorrectly. He doesn't recall if the Yeelong was discontinued although the distributor in the United States exited the market so you can't get it here (well, the FSF, and US people).
A number of units were donated to the FSF and then they also bought a few more for parts, discontinuation risks, and/or theft. If people recall one the Yeelong's RMS used was stolen while abroad.
