Nobody is giving up. It's just that it's not on the immediate agenda. There just aren't the resources, people, and organization to move things forward, yet. In a few months things might be different and we can start investigating a project like this. Maybe it is just a matter of contacting one of the companies or projects whom has a board and working with them on something 100% free software friendly. I don't know. I know I have one engineer whose capable of getting something off the ground. That's about as far as it goes right now and his time is taken by projects that will hopefully help lift us (ThinkPenguin) off the ground. A board like this isn't going to do that. As others have said it would probably be a niche product, unless, done right. Even if it is done right it might still be a niche product.
