Why? the GNU distro that the FSF uses for its servers, that minifree and Thinkpenguin install by default (and that is practically the only distro one can recommend to newbs) - why does it depend on just one single person? Could it really be that the FSF can not find and designate two volunteers to assure the continuity of the project?

I have been following the discussion, and I read that the launch of a new Trisquel LTS (which happens once every two years) is depending on a single person working as a volunteer for eight days. Furthermore, I read that this eight days are not in a row spanning two weeks, but sparsed one work day for every week - which delays the completion in six weeks.

At that moment my thought was, what about the donations? I went to the trisquel.info donations page (which is keen on transparency and list all of the donations) and added all the donations in the last two years. These are the results in the different currencies:

262 AUD
2,577.81 €
4,504.60 $
300 CZK
20 ILS
151 CAD
378 £
330 MXN
412 CHF
550 SEK
200 NOK
1000 JPY
20 NZD
15 SGD

Certainly it is not an amount of money that can pay a single developer for two years - but then, not even eight days? What would be the amount of money that would Trisquel need?
