I was not saying the fig leaf aprons actually coverered the sin. I was saying Adam & Eve tried to cover their sin with the Aprons. I am sorry I was not clear.
You are correct God provided the true covering. My point in the original post was that LDS use a GREEN FIG LEAF APRON in the temple ceremony. As I pointed out they used to have Adam & Eve at a Altar with the Fruit of the ground on it as a lamb reposes in comfort off to the side. This was Cains offering that was REJECTED by God. Just like the modern fig leaf will be rejected by God.

But sacrificing an animal to make the skin aprons DID cover their sins. That is the first example in the bible of an animal sacrifice to cover sin. This whole scenario is repeated again when Cain's sacrifice from his crop was insufficient (not pleasing to the Lord), but Able's animal sacrifice was sufficient (pleasing to the Lord).
