Can any of you recommend a good ide to use on ubuntu?

It's not free, but I like it: Komodo IDE
(http://www.activestate.com/komodo/). Komodo edit is MPL/GPL though.

I would stay away from Eclipse/Pydev. It's so friggin' slow, it makes me
gnash my teeth every time I have to use it. But if you have a decent
computer and lots of RAM, you can give it a try.

I've looked at Eclipse/Pydev and decided to stay away from it because it's a resource hog.

I do not have a budget to pay for komodo ide so I'm looking for a free (as in free beer) ide for a poor developer. if it's a license like GPL it'll be better.

I've found netbeans from my google searches. it's for java but it has some python plugins. is it good for turbogears too?
