There was some kind of episode where there was a band, with all of the associate fish-out-of-water stuff with Buck that just doesn't hold up. Can't remember if they were famous IRL, but certainly were supposed to be in the future.

When Speed Racer ended, I pretty much wrote off all (TV) anime until the late 90s. For some reason I took a shine to the Dragonball shows, tho my first exposure to them was on what was then called I-channel, on which they were all in their native tongue. Rogers and Galactica were ok, when they were out shooting'em up. To this day I still wonder why Rogers needed to cast Mel Blanc. Galactica was ruined by that sequel where they arrived at (present-day) Earth.
