My initial reaction is to say "It can't work," because Marlowe is so tied into that whole late 30s/40s Los Angeles ambiance, but the BBC made it work with "Sherlock," so anything's possible, I suppose. (I exempt "Elementary," since it just didn't work for me in the viewings I gave it).
On the other hand, "Castle" hasn't done anything for me, so I expect this to go nowhere. The best Marlowe? Dick Powell. Garner came second, and would have been perfect with a better script, but is still not bad. Bogart is third. --Dave Sikula On Monday, October 21, 2013 2:37:52 PM UTC-7, Bob in Jersey wrote: > > Andrew, cocreator of *Castle*, teams with that show's writer (also his > wife) Terri Edda Miller and Oscar-winning director Michael DeLuca to bring > back legendary gumshoe Philip, not seen in the US since an HBO version in > the 1980s... > > > http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/castle-creator-michael-de-luca-649479 > > B > -- -- TV or Not TV ....
