My initial reaction is to say "It can't work," because Marlowe is so tied
into that whole late 30s/40s Los Angeles ambiance, but the BBC made it work
with "Sherlock," so anything's possible, I suppose. (I exempt "Elementary,"
since it just didn't work for me in the viewings I gave it).

On the other hand, "Castle" hasn't done anything for me, so I expect this
to go nowhere.

The best Marlowe? Dick Powell. Garner came second, and would have been
perfect with a better script, but is still not bad. Bogart is third.
