If you warp it around the same piece of furniture, the lengths will be pretty 
close.  Any unevenness in the tension will be incorporated once you start 
weaving, but since this makes for messier starts, I usually try to even out the 
tension by hand before I start.<<

That's basically what I ended up doing, but it was awkward.   I wondered if 
there was a better way, or maybe I just need more practice.

That's what I did for the pattern where all the cards were threaded the same, 
but the last 2 I tried there were only a few that were threaded the same.   
Except for the borders and center every card was threaded different.
