I do a lot of double sided weaving, which means most of the tablets are
threaded the same, except for the selvedge. My loom is something like an inkle
loom, I found the design online and my partner made it for me. I can warp
directly on the loom. Once I have the "pattern" tablets warped, I make whatever
changes are necessary for the selvedge, cutting a warp thread and tying a new
colour to it, if that's what's required. It takes a bit of rigmarole to
maintain the tension on the completed part of the warp while you're cutting and
tying, especially since it requires tying knots that you want to have close to
the end of the warp. I usually attach the completed part to one of the posts on
the look when I'm doing the cutting and tying. The you just warp up the
selvedge tablets and rearrange them to get the right positions. That would be
incredibly tedious if you are talking about changing the warp for ecvery card,
but it works fairly well for projects where
most of the cards are threaded alike.

If you warp it around the same piece of furniture, the lengths will be pretty
close.  Any unevenness in the tension will be incorporated once you start
weaving, but since this makes for messier starts, I usually try to even out the
tension by hand before I start.<<

That's basically what I ended up doing, but it was awkward.   I wondered if
there was a better way, or maybe I just need more practice.

That's what I did for the pattern where all the cards were threaded the same,
but the last 2 I tried there were only a few that were threaded the same.
Except for the borders and center every card was threaded different.
Thanks for the replies.
