Hi Jason,

Yes, it sure does (please note these examples are Universe). Also please
be aware there are limits with dynamic files as well. The dynamic file
has 2 sub files in which the actual data is kept and the 2Gb limit
applies to them :

u-orion1.faulding.com.au> ls -l AR.ARCHIVE6
total 5187936
-rwxrwx--- 1 root sb 4592328704 Feb 11 07:19 DATA.30
-rwxrwx--- 1 root sb 720113664 Feb 3 06:17 OVER.30

As you can see, the DATA.30 file is well over the 2Gb limit. This means
the dynamic file also has to be resized to 64bit or there will be a
failure. The ANALYZE.FILE doesn't show this limit

>ANALYZE.FILE AR.ARCHIVE6
File name .................. AR.ARCHIVE6
Pathname ................... AR.ARCHIVE6
File type .................. DYNAMIC
Hashing Algorithm .......... SEQUENTIAL
No. of groups (modulus) .... 1121173 current ( minimum 1121173 )
Large record size .......... 3267 bytes
Group size ................. 4096 bytes
Load factors ............... 90% (split), 50% (merge) and 49% (actual)
Total size ................. 5312442368 bytes

but it certainly exists (as I have found out to my detriment on a couple
of occasions 8-( )

I don't quite understand what you mean by backup/live data, this applies
to all files used in Universe (AFAIK Unidata but I may be wrong)

We are looking to move to Universe. Does a 2 gig limit apply to
Universe as
well? Does it only apply to the backup or live data?
