Ubnt has spent most of their recent effort on the PTMP functionality of the AC 
firmware. So at the moment the PTMP performance and stability is generally 
better than the PTP functionality.

If you are choosing a frequency in U-NII 1 or Un-NII 2 to avoid congestion in 
U-NII 3, the mode (PTMP or PTP) of the radios should have no impact. 

My (limited) understanding is that the differences in PTMP vs PTP mode are 
about timing, frames, and related. Otherwise, frequency use is frequency use.
