I just did a problem-free upgrade from a pristine Ubuntu 8.04.2 LTS installation to Ubuntu 8.10 and from there to Ubuntu 9.04 development version without problems. openoffice.org-voikko upgraded finely all the way. Maybe this is a Dell-specific problem? Can you say why openoffice .org-voikko is installed in the first place - are you using Ubuntu in Finnish language? Or maybe Dell installs support for numerous languages by default.
If it's not somehow because of some Dell customizations, another possible reason is that I see you were updating from un-upgraded Ubuntu 8.04, meaning the old 2.6.24-16 kernel from April. The upgrade instructions (http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/upgrading) state that "If there are any updates to install, use the Install Updates button to install them, and press Check again after that is complete." before upgrading to a completely new Ubuntu version. So upgrading to newer Ubuntu without first downloading and installing all the minor updates to the existing Ubuntu is not supported. -- package openoffice.org-voikko 2.1-1build2 failed to install/upgrade: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/320787 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
