You're right, there are some cases where it wouldn't work and that would be
likely to be one of them, although in theory if the share was mounted with
a keypair rather than a password it should work.

To wander off, shared Thunderbird profiles is one of those things that
should work like Firefox sync. I've occasionally thought about it for
several years. It's reminded me that I was going to try with Ubuntu One.
