I tried what deleting ~/.config/monitors.xml on startup, but it seems to be re-created when you plug/unplug the second monitor.
What works for me is removing the file on startup, but also created a cron job that runs every 2 minutes and deletes this too. So when I unplug the screen, before I plug it back, the file will already be gone and my session won't crash. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1511247 Title: Ubuntu 15.10 Could not apply the stored configuration for monitors To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1511247/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
